One advantage of a knowledge of Esperanto, which is not at first obvious, is that it gives the opportunity to read masterpieces written in minority languages. It is not easy to find English translations of works in Bulgarian, Estonian or Bengali for example. It is much more likely, however, that they have been translated into good Esperanto and certainly many masterpieces may well come to light from a knowledge of Esperanto.
